Prefab Construction Workshop

Designed to close the gap around prefabrication and to provide a pragmatic approach and real-life focus on the level of detailing required, this three hour technical workshop will focus on the use of SIPs panels/modular builds and will work with a local design example from one of our ADNZ members.

Expect to come away with a deeper understanding of the prefab process including:

• An interactive session about the notes on drawings, builds verses plans and challenges faced
• Plans and discussions – which is the best process for the site/time/cost
• Educational learnings – what issues occur
• SIPS, Panel, CLT, sandwiches, Prefab/modular
• Weathertightness and how it works
• Different build types – charts of benefits, cost, duration – compare the pros/cons of each product

Bring along a plan of one of your existing projects to work on during the interactive session.

Each workshop will feature a knowledgeable speaker who will be sharing their experience of working with prefabrication and how they dealt with the design and detail of the product, sharing if this is a construction method they would use again and the prefab involvement of their project.
