Profile
Creative architectural solutions specialising in renovations and new residences.
design arc limited is committed to providing an excellent client-focused service.
I believe every project is unique and its style is formed from the client's lifestyle, needs and flair.
I love the challenge of renovations, as there are so many set parameters to contend with. The new additions or alterations need to be an integral part of the site. This does not necessarily mean the new areas are reproductions of the existing structure, however, they need to reflect the history of the site and sit comfortably balanced with the existing spaces.
Services include:
- Full design service from conception to completion
- Resource Consent applications (including public notified consent and hearings)
- Building Consent documentation (including lodgement)
- Site observation
- Contract administration

Client Reviews
I have been involved in a number of residential and commercial development projects over the years and have worked with various architectural and other professionals over this time.
I own a block of flats in Dunedin and have renovated two of the four to date. This process has been complicated for me by living remotely from the site, in Nelson.
Julie-Ann has helped with the design work and liaison with the builder and all other relevant parties on these two flats which have now been renovated with an excellent outcome.
Having found Julie-Ann so good to work with I proceeded to ask her to develop plans to remove the very derelict flat at the rear of the site and replace it with one or two modern units. Julie-Ann has driven this process to date and has been invaluable. This has been a complicated process as it involved the Heritage Society, neighbour issues, access issues and issues with the Council regarding the appropriate level of development of this site and accompanying pressure on the local environment. Julie-Ann has designed two excellent options and has worked through all the issues in an efficient, knowledgeable and friendly fashion.
I am delighted to be continuing to work with Julie-Ann and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her both for her professional expertise and her efficient and personable approach.
