CS For Doors is Australasia’s premier manufacturer of cavity sliding door systems – that is doors that <slide> inside walls. Because our doors are often hidden out of sight in cavities within walls, you may not be aware of quite how many places they are used.

However, it could be said that our anonymity is our greatest asset, as the fact that our doors often go unnoticed is one of the reasons why we think they are so great. And why do they often go unnoticed: because THEY TAKE UP LESS SPACE than ordinary hinged doors, which can be very useful when you find yourself having to find a door that fits into a tight space. In fact, unlike traditional hinged doors, when Cavity Sliders are fully open they take up no space – ZERO.

We have a range of over 50 cavity sliding systems and related products to choose from, suitable for both residential and commercial applications, including: special systems for disabled access and healthcare, automatic cavity sliders and self closing options, acoustically rated cavity sliders up to STC43. Because we like a challenge we also make to order specially to customer specifications. In fact we’re willing to try almost anything when it comes to doors.

Actually, the next time you go to use a modern public toilet, it’s quite likely that the door you slide open is one our cavity sliding units, with a Lavilock door handle made by CaviLocK. CaviLocK is our hardware division and specialises in making handles and locks for sliding doors. CaviLocK products, like our door systems, are available from merchants and through the major architectural hardware distributors.

Formally known as Cavity Sliders Limited, CS For Doors was started back in 1986 by husband and wife pairing Phil and Colleen Kenny. They believed there was a gap in the New Zealand door market for quality cavity sliding units and set about with the mission to engineer and manufacture the best and most innovative cavity sliding systems possible. As a result CS For Doors is proudly 100% New Zealand owned and operated.

We changed our name to CS For Doors because over the years we’ve developed new products including some that aren’t strictly Cavity Sliders, and wanted our name to reflect the diversity of our range.

For instance the motors for our automatic doors are specially engineered and manufactured by a division we now simply call CS AutomaticUnitS. Like the name suggests, CS GateSystemS is another division that specialises primarily in gates. Then we really came out of the closet and declared our diversity when wardrobe doors became such a significant part of our business that we created a separate department and called it CS WardrobeSliderS. These divisions are joined by others that you can find out about on this website, and complete our product hierarchy.
