APL (Architectural Profiles Limited) is the largest window systems supplier in New Zealand.The company, which is based in Hamilton, specialises in the research, design, testing, extruding, surface finishing and distribution of aluminium window and door systems, as well as the technical and marketing support of a substantial fabricator network.

APL (Architectural Profiles Ltd) is New Zealand’s leading window systems supplier. A privately owned company based in Hamilton, APL was started in 1971 and has several major brands of exterior joinery which are marketed throughout the country – Altherm, First, Vantage, Smartwood and the Architectural Series. APL designs and tests its proprietary systems and also has an on-site aluminium extrusion plant (INEX) and surface finishing facilities (FINEX). Architectural Profiles uses its own distribution fleet to service its network of over 70 fabricators nationwide. Branch offices are maintained in Auckland and Christchurch.

Altherm is one of New Zealand’s most prestigious brands of aluminium windows and doors and has had a strong following among architects and designers for over 30 years.

First windows and doors were launched in 1991 and quickly moved into the front rank of the joinery industry. Their stylish and contemporary profiles recognise the realities of current building and design.

Vantage, started in 1971, is New Zealand’s biggest selling brand of aluminium joinery. The Vantage hallmark has been a constant drive to refine, improve and modernise its aluminium profiles.

Smartwood is a composite joinery system with aluminium on the outside and timber on the inside. It is an ideal blend of the visual and the practical.

The Architectural Series of high performance windows and doors is perfect for architectural homes and apartments. An intermediate range of high specification joinery, the Architectural Series, is also available that is positioned between mainstream residential suites and the Architectural Series.

Profile balustrades are also part of the APL product portfolio and offer an attractive combination of smooth, comfortable shapes and exceptional strength. They offer both good looks and peace of mind.

The Profile system is ideal for decks, balconies, swimming pools and staircases and offers one of the strongest barrier systems available in New Zealand.
